Information on Asian Culture in Atlanta

Among the many ways to experience Asian culture in America is by joining in the celebration of the Chinese New Year held at the Chinese Culture Center in Atlanta, Georgia. The center operates under the auspices of the Office of Taipei Economy and Culture. Various entertainment presentations occurring at the center throughout the year, afford visitors the opportunity to sample various Chinese cuisines and observe Chinese children receiving language instruction at the center.
The goal of Atlanta’s 7th annual Asian Film Festival is to educate the public by celebrating the Asian culture through the media of films.Never heard of this before? Get up to speed here. The opening Premiere Gala will roll out the red carpet for prominent Asians associated with the entertainment, business and community activities in Atlanta. Awards will be presented for acting, directing and other facets of music and film production.
Georgia State University plans to host a Chinese Film Festival in conjunction with the 2011 opening of the Confucius Institute.. The institute’s goal is to enhance and develop cultural exchange between the United States and China. One of the films featured will be “Woman From The Lake of Scented Souls.” A special exhibit of Asian calligraphy arts will take place at the new Confucius Institute.
